Keto Ignite The Mediterranean diet ranked first as the best overall diet in the general classification of diets in the United States in 2019. Haupt sees a trend in people who ask more about this type of regional diets. “We see people who are interested in adopting eating habits in places where we know people are healthier,” he says.
Like the Mediterranean diet, the Northern plan emphasizes barley and other whole grains, berries, vegetables, fish and beans. Instead of olive oil recommended by the Mediterranean diet, the northern diet uses canola oil.
